Brian Eno Encourages Support to Send Together for Palestine Lullaby to UK Festive Top Spot.

A campaign is aiming to send a Palestinian lullaby to the peak of the festive singles chart. The project seeks to provide aid to people in Gaza while also showcasing Palestinian artistic heritage.

An Opportunity for Solidarity and an "Unlikely Coup"

Composer and producer Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a moment to support Palestinians over the Christmas period. He noted the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“That would be amazing if that happened, yes,” he commented. “I wouldn't be completely disheartened if it doesn't manage to, holiday tracks are a category of their own.”

Powerful Theme of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the version of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's powerful central theme.

“It occupies a very special place for many individuals,” Barghouti said. “It’s basically saying that I would choose to perish with honor than exist without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we want to live a respectful existence that we merit as a people.”

Production History and Star-Studded Lineup

The song was recorded in the wake of a major charity concert held in the autumn. Initially planned to be performed and recorded live, the performance was cut from the show due to scheduling overruns.

The diverse array of performers featured on Lullaby features a group of acclaimed names from the industry. All participated in the earlier concert, which reportedly raised a considerable total for charitable causes.

Production and Release

Lullaby was brought to life by a trio of producers and composers. The song showcases a fusion of the original Arabic with contemporary English verses.

The group managing the project have clarified that their aim is to collect the highest amount for a dedicated fund. These donations will be channeled to Palestinian causes through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“We haven't set a specific target,” a representative commented. “We aim for whatever we can get. Of course, the more the merrier. All proceeds are directed out to those in need in Gaza.”

The situation in the area was described as its widespread damage, with a vast majority of property said to be destroyed or damaged.

“Given that reality, a handful of millions doesn’t make an enormous impact. But I think what truly matters is above all spreading knowledge of this plight and demonstrating the human dimension of the story.”

The song is set to be released on Friday. Additionally, a full recording of the benefit event will be made ready to watch on a major video platform from later in the month.
