The Streaming Giant Selects Spot-On Performer for Bentham in One Piece Season 3

Baroque Works is geared up to play a huge role in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, although the major clash isn’t set to occur until the third season, and a beloved, audience-beloved member has just been cast.

Netflix announced Tuesday that the talented performer has joined the One Piece season 3 cast and will play Bon Clay. The role has the ability to morph into an identical duplicate of any individual they’ve made contact with with their main hand. Escola, who is non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will depict a version of that figure reinterpreted as gender non-binary, as opposed to as a drag artist, in the live-action show, differing from the initial comic and animated series.

Escola is joined by a number of new cast members tasked with bringing the group to the screen, including head Sir Crocodile, brought to life by Joe Manganiello, Sophia Anne Caruso as a key member, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who also joins the ensemble as King Nefertari Cobra of Alabasta.

Even though this character is a major member of the organization, the persona won’t appear until One Piece season 3. Given the second season set to cover the Little Garden arc, this marks a major departure in the placement of the character’s debut, one that could signal more adjustments to the narrative framework.

Their mix of excellent comedic sense and emotional depth makes them a ideal selection for the part. Besides their current animated role in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and several accolades for creating and performing in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, highlighting the versatility they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s most celebrated figures.

The platform’s adapted One Piece show is scheduled to come back for its season two on March 10, 2026.
