Your Ideal Pokémon Legends: Z-A Super Form Based on the Astrological Sign
The comeback of Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has ignited widespread enthusiasm within the community. Starting with the one-by-one reveal of newcomers before the title's launch, to trainers developing strong views on the full lineup of Mega Evolutions, there's plenty for enthusiasts to look forward to.
Given many of the Mega Evolutions showcasing unique appearances that highlight their personalities, one thought naturally: What's the best way to connect this with astrology? This list is inspired by a blend of intuition, sign stereotypes, and individual observations.
The Ram – Mega Camerupt
To be truthful, Houndour's evolution was nearly chosen for Aries, as both are the Super Form and astrological sign that evoke the most fear. However, a Mega Houndoom comes across as constantly angry, which doesn't match the Aries vibe, known for being fun, cheerful, and spontaneous. This makes the Ram far more similar to Super Camerupt, which solely erupts when provoked. Remain on the friendly side of both and benefit from a strong ally; if you cross them, be ready to face the consequences.
Taurus – Super Heracross
Much like a loyal Bull, the reliable Heracross species, whether in its regular and Mega form, has aided many players in Legends: Z-A. Though trustworthy, each the creature and a Bull are still Fighting types, and – whether it's their trainer or a strong opinion – will stand up for their position unwaveringly. The thing about Mega Heracross that recalls most of my Bull-sign companions, though, is its unabashed passion for treats. Several previous official descriptions mention their craving for sweet sap and how it employs its horn to collect it all, which is true Bull-sign vibe.
The Twins – Mega Medicham
Look at this absolute royalty. You cannot tell me this Pokémon is not the soul of every party, providing an constant fountain of gossip to those who wish to listen. Much like an captivating, gregarious Gemini, it's very simple to envision Mega Medicham captivating an entire open area with their stories. This Pokémon's Pokédex entry also mentions its capacity to predict an enemy’s future actions, which sounds very similar to a socially-savvy Gemini.
The Crab – Super Manectric
Cancer is commonly regarded as the most emotional member of the astrological wheel, a passionate sign known for frequently getting wrapped up in their feelings. Per the official info, Mega Evolution fills the creature with a “tremendous amount of energy, but it's too much for Manectric to completely control,” which sounds a lot like a classic Crab emotional outburst. This Pokémon is also known for its capability to make a thundercloud over its own self – and if there’s a single trait a Crab is likely to do, it’s rain on their own parade.
The Lion – Super Starmie
Well, did you assume I was going to select the lion Pokémon for the king of the zodiac? Besides the reality that it would be far too on the nose, Leo is obviously Mega Starmie, the star whose gams just became an internet sensation for being too fabulous (or terrifying, based on your preference). Players couldn’t look away from the violet starfish, and that’s exactly the same energy a Lion brings to the table. Starmie is also said to be transmitting radio waves from its center out into space, and it’s just like a Leo to be staging a show, even if for aliens.
The Maiden – Super Victreebel
The always-ready and constantly-worried Maiden is ideally represented in Mega Victreebel, the Mega with constant acid reflux. The sign known for being charmingly judgmental is clearly reflected throughout this Pokémon’s whole lineage, from a perpetually surprised face like a Maiden when you tell them you lack a retirement plan, to its upside-down visage that’s just like the symbol a Maiden posts to the chatroom when everyone says they want to “go with the flow” rather than creating a strategy.
The Scales – Super Audino
Observe this sweet, empathetic creature, who uses the sensors on its auditory organs to detect how others are feeling by their pulse. Always compassionate – sometimes to a detriment – and trying to keep the peace, there are numerous Libras who would likely benefit from Super Audino's abilities. Though, let’s be honest, it would probably just make them stress even more about others.
The Scorpion – Mega Banette
Banette is a Pokémon with a surprisingly tragic origin: Abandoned as a toy, it became sentient through pure hatred and swore retribution on its previous caretaker. According to the Pokédex, Super Evolution, “increases its vindictiveness.” That sounds exactly like many discussions I’ve had with my scary Scorpion acquaintances. A Scorpio loves karma and comeuppance, making them the ideal pair with Super Banette.
The Archer – Super Hawlucha
Both Super Hawlucha and Archers are always staging a performance. Being a Archer myself, the number of occasions I’ve referred to myself some version of a “silly little jester” is innumerable. The showiest and most attention-seeking Mega Evolution, its description even notes how it “poses to show off its power.” I would do the very same thing if I had a Super Form, making Super Hawlucha the most apt Sagittarius counterpart I can think of.
The Goat – Super Absol
Did you know that a Mega Absol has the ability to predict disasters in advance? That exudes the exact same energy as a Goat, who often consistently think they’re right. Interestingly, much like a visionary Super Absol, they frequently are. It’s also the absolute first Super Form that trainers encounter in Legends: Z-A – just like a Capricorn to join the beginning of the Super Form craze.
The Water Bearer – Super Chandelure
Detached air sign Aquarius is arguably the non-fire placement that is closest to a flame symbol – its counterpart is Leo, and there are numerous memes about Sagittarius and Aquarius being unpredictable accomplices. Super Chandelure's double Ghost/Fire category matches perfectly with this, and the Mega’s overall intimidating presence is also extremely Aquarius. If you weren’t already convinced, the Super Form's description says it “absorbs hatred and converts it into power.” If that fails to exactly {encaps
